The Uniondale office of Cullen and Dykman LLP is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant with 1-5 years of Tort Litigation experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with drafting, editing and organizing pleadings, legal documents and discovery responses in litigation matters.
- Process medical authorizations and correspond with providers to secure records.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and communicating with opposing counsel and court personnel.
- Maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring accuracy and organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree, a plus.
- At least 1-5 years of tort litigation experience in a law firm preferred.
- Experience with litigation procedures and processes and familiarity with State and Federal court e-filing systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Proficiency with iManage, a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Superior organizational and computer skills.
- Attention to details a must.
- Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work overtime, as necessary.
