What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Class Instructor position at Culinary Arts Center?
Are you a professional chef who loves sharing your craft but is tired of the grind of a standard kitchen line? We are looking for a Culinary Class Instructor to lead fun, hands-on cooking classes for recreational hobbyists.
This role is about more than just cooking—it’s about hospitality, education, and entertainment. Whether you want to share your own signature recipes or teach one of our fan-favorite menus, this is a creative and social way to use your skills.
How it Works
- The Menus: You have total flexibility. You can rerun one of our successful previous classes, collaborate with us to build something new, or bring your own unique menu ideas to the table.
- The Prep: Instructors are responsible for grocery shopping and pre-class food prep.
- The Support: You won't be alone! A Class Host stays with you during the class to help with logistics and guest needs.
- The Cleanup: Focus on the food and the guests—we have a cleaning crew that comes in afterward to handle the deep cleaning.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Advance Planning: We respect your time. Schedules are finalized about one month in advance.
- Work-Life Balance: This is a flexible role with typically 1 to 4 classes per month depending on the season and your interest.
- Private Events: You’ll also have the opportunity to lead private/corporate events, which include your base rate plus tips.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional Kitchen Experience: You are confident with your knives and various cooking techniques (required).
- Personable Personality: You’re a "people person" who can keep a group engaged and entertained for 2–3 hours.
- Organizational Skills: You can manage a grocery list and get your prep done on time.
- Teaching Spirit: While prior teaching experience is a plus, we are happy to work with any chef who has a natural ability to coach and encourage others.
Why Chefs Love Working With Us
- Creative Input: You can choose to be as creative as you want with the menus.
- Zero "Line" Stress: No ticket machines, no 12-hour shifts standing in one spot.
- Supportive Environment: We handle the "heavy lifting" (the host and the cleaners) so you can focus on being the expert.
- Great Income Potential: A competitive flat rate per class plus the potential for significant tips.
Pay: $250.00 per day
