Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims to commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and authorization requirements.
- Review claims for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
- Monitor outstanding claims and follow up with insurance carriers on unpaid, underpaid, rejected, or denied claims.
- Research and resolve claim denials, billing discrepancies, and reimbursement issues in a timely manner.
- Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and contractual allowances accurately.
- Reconcile patient accounts and ensure payments are applied to the appropriate charges.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) for payment accuracy and denial reasons.
