Service Technician – Medical Device Repair & Testing (1st Shift)

Job Title: Service Technician

Shift: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Summary

Service Technicians support the mission of saving and sustaining lives by working as part of a service line team performing repair, assembly, and electrical/mechanical testing on in-home dialysis machines and infusion pumps.

The role requires adherence to standard work instructions, maintaining high quality standards, documenting service results, and supporting additional operational areas such as shipment preparation, assembly, repair, and testing as needed.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance

• Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, SOPs, and departmental procedures.
• Maintain a proactive safety mindset focused on preventing workplace incidents.
• Comply with Quality Management Systems and complete required documentation accurately.

Service & Testing Operations

• Perform repair, assembly, and electrical/mechanical testing of medical devices.
• Review maintenance records and record findings within company systems.
• Ensure continuous workflow on the servicing line.
• Apply established procedures and device readings to complete service/testing processes.
• Escalate issues appropriately when required.

Operational Support

• Rotate across operational areas including:
• Assembly
• Repair
• Testing
• Spare parts handling
• Shipment preparation
• Perform inspection duties according to defined procedures.
• Train team members as required.

Technical Duties

• Use hand and power tools (tube cutters, crimp machines, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Operate testing equipment and machinery to verify product specifications.
• Conduct calibration of test stations and equipment when assigned.
• Assemble packaging materials and prepare devices for shipment.
• Receive incoming products and sanitize devices using approved cleaning solutions.
• Transport finished goods pallets for shipment.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and system navigation.
• Basic math skills required.
• Familiarity with assembly tools (screwdrivers, pliers) preferred.
• Knowledge of testing tools such as:
• Digital multimeters
• Oscilloscopes
• Hipot testers
• Pressure gauges (preferred but not required).
• Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and perform fine motor tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to lift:
• Up to 30 lbs regularly
• Up to 42 lbs in shipment preparation roles.
• Comfortable working with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
• Ability to occasionally handle medical devices exposed to bodily fluids or insects.
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior electrical/mechanical assembly, repair, or testing experience preferred but not required.
