Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier qualification, product/process qualification, and technical supplier development for high-complexity engine components. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, SCM, and global teams to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and quality-assured supplier base. The role requires strong welding and coating expertise, audit experience, and proven root-cause problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Lead supplier qualification, capability/capacity assessments and supplier risk evaluations.
Plan and conduct supplier audits (quality system, capability, capacity) and follow up on corrective actions.
Lead Product & Process Qualification (PPQ) and support supplier quality across the full process chain.
Manage supplier non conformances: containment, root cause analysis (RCA), corrective / preventive actions and verification of effectiveness.
Initiate and drive supplier improvement programs and technical development activities at supplier locations.
Participate in design reviews and facilitate early supplier involvement for new designs (support DTL/DTC efforts).
Coach suppliers on quality management system requirements and use of digital quality tools.
Track and report implementation status and effectiveness of risk mitigation and improvement measures.
Collaborate with global SCM and cross-functional virtual teams to meet program quality and delivery targets.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar. (Master’s degree desirable.)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in supplier quality, supplier development or supply chain quality in a technical/manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with supplier qualification, PPQ/product & process qualification and supplier audits.
Strong technical knowledge of welding and coating processes — CWI certification preferred.
Practical experience with root cause analysis tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
Knowledge of ISO and ASME standards.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional and virtual teams in an international environment.
Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% (domestic & international).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Lead Auditor certification (or equivalent).
Project management experience / certification.
Hands-on manufacturing or shop floor experience.
Experience with digital quality tools and supplier performance dashboards.
Salary : $48 - $50
