Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support procurement and material planning activities for a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of direct materials, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRP, SAP (or similar ERP systems), and manufacturing purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze MRP demand and place purchase orders to support production.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure timely supplier deliveries.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, pricing, and invoice issues.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to prevent material shortages.
• Review open purchase orders and expedite critical materials as needed.
• Maintain accurate purchasing transactions in SAP or ERP systems.
• Communicate supply risks and escalate supplier issues when necessary.
• Support inventory optimization and excess inventory reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers on forecasts, engineering changes, and delivery schedules.
• Resolve purchasing and receiving discrepancies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Specialist supporting manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Strong supplier management and purchase order experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
