Job Summary
We are seeking an IT Support Technician II to provide onsite Tier 2 deskside support in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for deploying and supporting desktop hardware, performing Windows upgrades, imaging systems, managing IT assets, and troubleshooting end-user issues. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and experience supporting Windows-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 onsite desktop support for end users.
- Deploy new computers and replace existing hardware.
- Upgrade Windows 10 systems to Windows 11.
- Image and configure desktop and laptop computers.
- Retire and dispose of outdated IT assets following company procedures.
- Update asset records in Asset Center and maintain accurate documentation.
- Follow knowledge base (KB) articles and established procedures to resolve technical issues.
- Create and maintain documentation, reports, and email communications.
- Identify process or operational issues and resolve them using documented procedures.
- Escalate issues that fall outside established processes.
- Maintain IT equipment, supplies, and operational data.
- Travel between local facilities as needed to support users and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with desktop deployment, imaging, and hardware replacement.
- Strong scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, intranet, and internet tools.
- Understanding of computer security concepts and security policies.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing shop floor environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of IT support or desktop support experience.
- Experience with Windows imaging and deployment tools.
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 migrations.
- Recent graduates with relevant IT education and hands-on technical skills are encouraged to apply.
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Walk extensively throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Work in both office and shop floor environments.
- Wear required safety equipment, including metatarsal safety shoes.
