Contract Duration: 12 Months Contract with possibility of Extension
Shift Structure: First Shift | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Flexible start time) with minimal overtime, Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $26.00/hr on W2 (Only USC/GC)
Job Description: Our client, a global leader in advanced agricultural technology and heavy equipment manufacturing, is seeking an Onsite Desktop & Infrastructure Support Associate to join their IT operations team at the Harvester Works facility in East Moline, IL. This dynamic, hands-on role bridges corporate IT support and factory-floor infrastructure maintenance, spending 75% of your time directly on the shop floor. You will be responsible for PC deployments, Windows 11 upgrades, system imaging, printer maintenance, and "smart hands" support for network teams. This is a prime opportunity for an IT technician or motivated tech graduate who thrives in a fast-paced, active manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- PC Deployment & Migrations: Image, configure, and deploy new desktop and laptop hardware across office and factory units; execute Windows 10 to Windows 11 operating system upgrades.
- Shop Floor IT Operations: Spend ~75% of scheduled time on the active factory floor troubleshooting industrial PCs, printers, and user connectivity issues.
- Automated Scripting & Support: Leverage scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python) to streamline basic deployment processes, system configurations, and routine tasks.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Track, document, and manage hardware inventory profiles within Asset Center; handle the secure decommissioning and disposal of outdated hardware assets.
- Ticket Queue Management: Resolve Tier 2 support requests out of ServiceNow queues by following pre-established Knowledge Base (KB) articles and site protocols.
- Campus Logistics: Transport hardware assets across the sprawling indoor facility safely using site utility vehicles (John Deere Gators) after completing site safety training.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 1 years of hands-on IT helpdesk, desktop support, or field technician experience (Motivated recent IT college graduates with strong practical skills are encouraged to apply).
- Technical Breadth: Foundational understanding of computing, networking concepts, Windows OS administration, and basic hardware troubleshooting (PCs, printers, rollers/toner).
- Scripting Skills: Functional capability or exposure using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for administrative automation.
- Physical & Safety Demands: Physical ability to lift 35 lbs, stand/walk for up to 75% of the shift, and wear required factory PPE—Steel Toe Metatarsal safety boots are mandatory on Day 1.
- Mobility Requirements: Valid driver's license for occasional local travel between Quad City facilities (under 10 miles frequency).
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology or CS discipline is preferred.
Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
- Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure, desktop fleets, or barcode systems directly within a manufacturing plant, warehouse, or assembly facility.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT Service Management tools (ServiceNow) and asset tracking databases.
