Job Summary: | The University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) University Staff (non-classified) Doula to support the CU College of Nursing Doula Program across clinical and community-based settings. The CU College of Nursing is launching its new practice to support patients birthing at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital. The doula will have the opportunity to participate in building and growing the practice to reach more families.
The Doula provides non-medical emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant, birthing, and postpartum individuals and their families. This role serves as a member of the interdisciplinary care team and collaborates with midwives, nurses, physicians, and other professionals to promote safe, respectful, and patient-centered care.

At Level III, duties are similar to those performed at Level II, but decisions are made with a considerable degree of independence. Although positions follow established work processes, they have the authority to determine the procedures required to accomplish the work. Positions use judgment on an ongoing basis to select the most appropriate guidelines and adapt them to develop work procedures that accomplish tasks.
Clinic Description: Sheridan Health Services is a multi-site, nurse-managed federally qualified community health center, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Health Care, and is a collaborative effort between the College of Nursing and the Sheridan School District. The clinic serves community health needs primarily for residents of Arapahoe, Denver, and Jefferson counties and is located in southwest Denver on the Fort Logan campus. It provides services to adults and children, 65% of whom identify as Latinx, and 42% of whom are best served in another language, with Spanish being the predominant second language. Services offered include primary care across the lifespan; prenatal and postpartum, women's health, dentistry, pharmacy, behavioral health, and outpatient substance use treatment.
