Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (ABI PCA, RA, and ILST) to deliver essential support and care to individuals in various care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of compassion, attention to detail, and experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or recovering from illness. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall quality of life.
Schedules: We need 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am and all 3 weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting any changes or concerns for appropriate action.
- Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with dementia or memory impairments.
Requirements
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills including CPR and first aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia care is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically assist clients as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills combined with the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
