Electrical Engineer Overview
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, and improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, or systems across industrial, commercial, and domestic applications. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, and improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, or systems across industrial, commercial, and domestic applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to train and supervise others while ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, implement, or improve electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, or systems.
- Perform a wide range of engineering tasks using computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Confer with customers, engineers, and stakeholders to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
- Establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications through detailed calculations.
- Direct or coordinate installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
- Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Supervise or train project team members.
- Estimate material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
- Maintain electrical equipment.
- Collaborate with a variety of technicians on project execution.
- 7 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
- Experience administering testing to students.
- Skilled in training Electrical Motor Controls for Integrated Systems.
- Ability to instruct students with hands-on labs, including PLCs, HMIs, hardwired, and safety circuits.
- Teaching Greensboro Basic Electrical Training.
- Experience teaching college-level programs.
- Industrial PC&IS experience.
- Knowledge of local electrical laws and the NEC.
