Project Manager

Our client is a rapidly growing consultancy delivering advanced engineering and technical solutions for complex, high-reliability environments. The team works at the forefront of next-generation technology, supporting organisations across clean energy, advanced industrial systems, and high-hazard applications.

This is an environment where initiative, curiosity, and technical excellence are genuinely valued, and where ambitious professionals can build long-term careers in a sector undergoing major innovation.

As part of ongoing growth, the company is seeking a Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering and fabrication projects from concept through delivery. The role offers hybrid working flexibility and a balanced schedule designed to support a healthy work-life rhythm.

Project Manager Overview

In this position, you will oversee full-lifecycle project delivery, coordinating engineering, production, supplier activity and customer communication across several concurrent programmes. You will work closely with technical leads to ensure projects meet performance, budget and schedule expectations while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.

Experience within advanced energy, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace or other engineered technology environments is welcome. Direct experience in high-hazard or regulated sectors is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of multidisciplinary engineering and fabrication projects from initial scoping to final delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, scope and quality, ensuring predictable and accountable performance.
  • Prepare, negotiate and administer contracts, proposals, cost estimates and change orders.
  • Develop, maintain and track project schedules and resource plans in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Monitor project financials, forecast labour and material requirements, and provide transparent reporting.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier activity, ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Support business development through bid contributions, technical input and direct customer engagement.
  • Prepare project updates, meeting materials and presentations as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 4 years of progressive project management experience in engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or other technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects and subcontractors.
  • This role is primarily office based, with periodic time spent in fabrication, testing or workshop areas depending on project needs.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel; experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • PMP certification is advantageous but not required.
  • Must be authorised to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Ability to work with export-controlled or sensitive technical information.
  • Occasional travel may be required (typically less than 10 percent).
