Civil Engineer – Nuclear Facilities

An industry-leading organization in advanced nuclear technology is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with strong expertise in civil and seismic design for nuclear facilities and power plant infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative reactor technologies and support the development of next-generation nuclear systems.
What You’ll Do:
• Design, analyze, and review civil and structural systems for nuclear facilities, including modules, foundations, supports, and containment structures.
• Perform seismic evaluations, dynamic analyses, and load calculations to ensure structural integrity and safety.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and safety engineering teams.
• Ensure all work meets applicable codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (ASCE, ACI, IBC, NRC).
• Support licensing, permitting, and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to R&D initiatives involving advanced materials and innovative construction techniques.
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 7 years of experience in civil/structural design, including seismic analysis.
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or ETABS.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations, ASCE/SEI 43, and seismic qualification standards.
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in project or contract management is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or active progress toward licensure).
