CT Industrial Products is looking for a dependable, technically minded Service Technician / Service Coordinator to join our Gas Detection Service Department. This position combines hands-on equipment service with customer communication and service coordination.
The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working with customers, and learning new technology. Experience with gas detection is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and service portable and fixed gas detection equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of gas detection equipment and brands
- Receive and document customer equipment for service
- Answer incoming customer technical and service questions
- Help customers determine the appropriate service or repair needed
- Prepare basic service estimates and assist with quotes
- Coordinate service schedules, equipment status, and customer communication
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and service department operations as needed
- Learn and become proficient with gas detection equipment, sensors, calibration procedures, and troubleshooting
- Train to perform field calibrations, troubleshooting, and service at customer locations
- Represent CT Industrial Products professionally when working with customers
What We're Looking For
- Mechanically or technically inclined
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with tools and equipment
- Good computer and documentation skills
- Professional and customer-focused communication
- Organized and able to manage multiple service requests
- Ability to learn technical products and procedures
- Previous experience with pneumatics, electronics, instrumentation, PLCs, equipment repair, or mechanical troubleshooting is a plus
- Gas detection experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate
The Opportunity
This is an entry-level to intermediate technical position with room to grow. The successful candidate will begin primarily in our service center, learning our equipment, calibration procedures, troubleshooting, and customer service processes. As experience is gained, the position will develop into field service work, including customer-site calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and service.
