Job Overview:
The Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for packaging, labelling, and preparing customer orders for parcel shipment. This position supports daily warehouse operations by inspecting products, packaging materials safely and accurately, processing parcel shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This is an on-site hourly position and will require a daily presence at our RectorSeal Earth City, MO facility, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Package customer orders accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
- Prepare parcel shipments by labeling, scanning, weighing, and verifying shipment information.
- Inspect products and packaging materials for damage, accuracy, and quality concerns prior to shipment.
- Assemble cartons and packaging materials to protect products during transit.
- Apply shipping labels, packing slips, and required documentation accurately.
- Operate parcel shipping systems, scanners, scales, and related equipment.
- Wrap pallets and prepare freight shipments as needed.
- Load and unload parcels, cartons, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain packaging supplies and notify leadership when replenishment is needed.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and quality standards.
- Perform routine housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Support shipping, packaging, and general warehouse operations as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily productivity and quality goals.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years’ recent experience in Picking and Fulfilling Orders
- 3 years’ recent experience operating Cherry Picker/Order Selector
- Familiarity of use of shipping scanners
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English.
- Basic Arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication
Preferred Requirements:
- 3 years’ recent experience in operating Walkie Rider
- 3 years’ recent experience in operating Reach Truck
- Turret reach truck experience
- Inventory systems proficiency: DSI & JDE experience a plus.
- Spanish a plus
Skills/Competencies:
- Proven work experience in warehouse setting
- Able to work independently and safely
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
