Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QE Engineer to join our client and play a vital role in delivering high-quality software solutions. This remote, direct-hire position focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining both automated and manual testing processes in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a passion for quality engineering, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to ensure software products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
- Develop, implement, and maintain functional UI automation frameworks and service layer/API testing for assigned applications and services
- Collaborate with product, development, and QA leadership to ensure adherence to established automation and testing best practices
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and documentation
- Lead defect reporting, triage, and tracking processes to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Manage test data across non-production environments, including database validation using SQL queries
- Evaluate and pilot new testing tools and technologies to enhance automation and efficiency
- Advocate for quality engineering standards and integrate automation into testing workflows to minimize manual errors
- Produce and share software quality metrics, including automation performance data
- Mentor and coach team members on automation best practices and quality engineering principles
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10 years in software quality assurance, including at least 6 years in test planning and 4 years in automation scripting and troubleshooting
- Expertise with automation tools such as Selenium or similar, and service layer testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman, or JMeter
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, .NET) and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python)
- Strong SQL skills, including experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, or MySQL
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and CI/CD tools (Azure Pipelines or Jenkins preferred)
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Node, or Ember
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Test-Driven Development principles
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in geographically distributed teams and fast-paced environments
