Key Responsibilities of the Manager of AI Platform Software Engineering:
- Lead the architecture and delivery of AI platform components, ensuring scalable AWS?native patterns for deployment, runtime, and security.
- Oversee the creation and enhancement of Python-based services supporting document intelligence, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows.
- Guide the development of document processing pipelines utilizing AWS tools such as Textract, Bedrock, and related vision/LLM services.
- Direct the implementation of retrieval solutions including Bedrock Knowledge Bases, vector storage, and optimized data pipelines.
- Manage the platform roadmap, prioritize backlogs, and mentor engineering team members while collaborating with AI consulting partners.
- Extensive experience (8–12 years, or 6–7 years exceptional) in backend or platform engineering with strong production-grade Python skills.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS AI technologies, particularly Bedrock, RAG patterns, vector storage, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to architect and deploy cost?aware, secure, and scalable AI solutions in cloud environments.
- Background in leading or mentoring engineering talent, with the ability to influence without direct management authority.
- Strong communication, ownership mindset, and passion for building modern AI?driven systems.
