The Lead Driver is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the CSS/Blue Origin shuttle service while serving as the primary liaison between drivers, management, facilities, and Blue Origin. This position requires strong communication, leadership, organization, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

The Lead Driver will assist with driver support, scheduling, safety communications, employee concerns, training, supplies, and on-site operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact and liaison with Blue Origin regarding shuttle service operations.

  • Communicate important updates, schedule changes, driver concerns, and operational needs to management and facilities.

  • Use the QR communication app to report and communicate driver safety updates, notifications, and facility-related concerns.

  • Ensure customer requests and operational needs are communicated and addressed promptly.

On-Call Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 24-hour, 7 day a week on-call operation as part of the shuttle service contract.

  • When assigned to on-call coverage, the Lead Driver must be available and respond immediately to calls, messages, and operational concerns.

  • If an on-site issue requires assistance while on call, the Lead Driver must report to the site to provide support.

  • Work two 8-hour driving shifts per week to remain familiar with day-to-day shuttle operations and provide on-site support.

  • Driving shifts will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, based on operational needs.

  • The Lead Driver's schedule must be coordinated with the Manager's schedule to ensure appropriate on-call coverage.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of shuttle routes, customer expectations, driver procedures, and site requirements.

Scheduling & Driver Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for driver schedule changes, rescheduling, leave requests, vacations, and call-offs.

  • Assist with finding appropriate coverage when drivers are unavailable.

  • Check in regularly with drivers to ensure operations are running smoothly and identify any concerns or assistance they may need.

  • Assist employees with questions, concerns, and operational issues.

  • Help ensure drivers are following company procedures and meeting customer service expectations.

  • Support management with ongoing driver training as needed.

Administrative & Technical Skills
