The CSIU is currently accepting applications for a full-time position in a corrections education residential youth treatment program located in Danville, PA. This position is responsible for the daily instruction in the area of Industrial Arts/Technology Education to secondary-grade level 7-12 students in a particular school program on the corrections campus, based on individual needs.
Salary: $53,247 -- 71,001 depending on credentials and experience. Position follows a 188 days per year, 11-month August to June school schedule This is an exempt position offering excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.

Education, Experience And Skills Required
- Minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree in education or a field-specific degree with emphasis on education.
- Pennsylvania teaching credential as either:
- A valid Pennsylvania instructional certification in the areas of either:
- 6075-Technology Education PK-12
- 6000-Industrial Arts
- 6005-Industrial Arts/ Technology Education
- A candidate who holds a bachelor's degree and willingness to obtain a Type 01 emergency permit with educational obligation in 6075-Technology Education PK-12, will also be considered. This requires enrollment in a PDE-approved program at Millersville University or Pennsylvania Western University.
- A demonstrated ability to work with at-risk populations, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively with the agency and residential staff are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are necessary to properly maintain open channels of communication with agencies, school districts, parents, members of higher education institutions, etc.
- Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
- Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding education programs, students, and parents always adhering to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements to protect staff and student data.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook email, internet browsers, and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Proficiency in utilizing vetted artificial intelligence (AI) is preferred. The ability to enhance AI skills will be required.
- Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
