Job Summary
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision-makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 275 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is looking for a dedicated intern to join their Conferencing Team. The position involves helping to organize high-level CSIS policy events and assisting with rental events for external clients. This internship is a great opportunity to develop strong administrative skills and contribute to the operations of a think tank on the cutting edge of the national security and foreign policy field. The small size and fast pace of the conferencing and events department allows interns to take on multiple responsibilities and gain practical experience in an international think tank.
The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($18.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $19.00/hour for hires with a bachelor’s degree, and $20.00/hour for hires with a master’s degree).

- Support conferencing and banquet staff during events and meetings
- Enter invoices into ReqLogic, Concur and Event Management System (EMS) databases
- Support CSIS programs by sending finalized BEOs and invoices related to Conferencing costs
- Run reports and compile event analytics
- Assist with any special tasks, presentations, projects, and reports
- Background in data entry or event planning preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide strong customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
