Responsibilities:   

The Brazilian Court Hotel is seeking a Shift Engineer with maintenance experience. Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Shift Engineer will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on the on-facility equipment and property structures, guestrooms and grounds maintenance. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to stand, bend and walk for hours at a time. 
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

Job Functions:  

• Complete room calls, day to day projects & emergencies such as; Preventative Maintenance of rooms, AC coil cleaning & AC maintenance, electrical & plumbing projects, roof repairs, Pool & Spa maintenance & repairs, Chiller maintenance, etc.
• Respond to all guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
• Follow preventive maintenance programs in compliance with hotel standards and local, state and national codes and regulations. 
• Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
• Handle elevator malfunctions.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering.
• Act as Security during your shift.
• Complete others tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in building maintenance in either hotel or residential environment.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry and repair work.
• Knowledge of power tools and how to use.
• Excellent communication skills required to respond on portable radio to fellow staff members and guests.
• Fluent in English; able to speak, read and write English. 
• Ability to work flexible shift. MORNINGS & EVENINGS
