Logistics Business Development Executive - LTL

Job Type: Full-time; Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Follows an outlined sales strategy for the market to ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability, for truckload, box truck, sprinter vans, and LTL services.
  • Prepares action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates the development of action plans to penetrate new market opportunities.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding individual sales performance.
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricing initiatives, sales and call activity reports submitted within the sales CRM system.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Assists operations in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are followed.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales as an Account Executive or Account Manager in the transportation industry, specifically selling 3PL services as a freight broker, or from a large LTL carrier that sold truckload services.
  • Experience with various methods of transportation services for small and large, complex organizations, smaller shippers, private and Government institutions.
  • Experience organizing, researching, and developing new and existing sales leads.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work out of state on calls as needed.
  • Proven leadership and ability to sell transportation services, specifically truckload and LTL.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect authentically with senior management and operational personnel.
  • Proficiency at delivering compelling presentations across various settings.

This position offers a competitive base salary.
