Job Description for the Combo I&R Technician 

The Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) position is in Mt. Airy, North Carolina and is full-time. The primary function is to install DSL internet services, providing world class quality, and product education for residential and commercial customers. We are the prime in this market.

• Keep a sharp axe

• Installation, maintenance, and repairing of Fiber and/or Copper systems for residential and commercial customers.


• Ensuring adequate performance of internet, phone and if applicable, television services


• Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.


• Place aerial or buried Fiber and/or Copper drop wire and install interior/exterior wiring. 


• Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulations.


• Able to work at heights by using/setting up various types of ladders.


• Able to work in tight spaces.


• Teamwork - Assist other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested.


• Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services to our customers.


• Have an ability to adapt to new processes and new information frequently.


• Use internal systems for work order notation and time keeping.


• Maintain minimum acceptable metrics with Repeats, Productivity, NPS and Completions.

• MUST HAVE ONX-580 or HST-3000 and all REQUIRED tools.


• Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience with knowledge of Copper plant and premise wiring.


• Must have own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack.


• Able to lift up to 80lbs unassisted.


• Android smartphone and Laptop (no Chromebook) are required.


• Microsoft Excel


• Must have personal protective equipment (PPE). Including, but not limited to: lace up steel toe boots with a defined ½” heel, hard hat, reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones. 


• Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task.

Compensation

The pay is production based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission.
