JOB SUMMARY

Crystal seeks a Seasonal part-time Varsity Beach Volleyball Head Coach. The Varsity Beach Volleyball Head Coach is responsible for the oversight of athletic training; strength and conditioning workouts; providing technical support and training to athletes, and overall communication as appropriate to the sport. Coaches have responsibilities not only to the students under their supervision, but also to the parents, the school, and the community.

• Exhibits and mentors the scholar-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play.
• Attends league meetings and completes all required trainings/certifications.
• Attends mandatory coaches’ meetings and trainings.
• Attends pre-season Athletics meetings (in the evening) with scholar-athletes and parents/guardians.
• Monitors the conduct of their scholar-athletes during practices and games.
• Provides a safe environment for the scholar-athletes by checking the playing area and equipment before each practice and game/competition.
• Prevents injuries through thoughtful, balanced workouts.
• Instructs scholar-athletes in the basic rules and fundamentals of the sport.
• Assists in implementing training programs for the Athletic Development Program.
• Implements athlete registration and evaluations and maintains the evaluation database.
• Reports match scores.
• Sends weekly communication email to scholar-athletes and their parents/guardians with a look ahead to the coming 1-2 weeks (practices and games), objectives for that week, and any other pertinent information.
• Regularly communicates with scholar-athletes, parents/guardians, and the Athletics Department to ensure a positive experience for all scholar-athletes/the team.

Travel Required

• Travel to practice courts in the Bay Area.
• Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area, and potential overnight travel for regional and state competitions within California (if the team qualifies).

Required education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Three  years  minimum of related experience is preferred
• Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)
• Indoor and/or Beach Volleyball coaching experience
• General knowledge of best practices in interscholastic athletics and specifically Indoor and/or Beach Volleyball

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Able to work in a dynamic environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
• Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
• Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds
• Able to drive a 9-seat school van (valid driver’s license in good standing required)

Salary and Benefits

This is a seasonal part-time position, working approximately15 hours per week of practices and games and approximately 2 hours per week of administrative tasks. It is not eligible for benefits. This position is paid hourly at $30 per hour, with a target pay of $6,000-$7,000 for the season dependent on experience. Season key dates: February 2,2026-May 8, 2026.

The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established. The ideal start date for this position is January 26, 2026.

Salary : $30 - $35
