This dynamic role ensures that our guests and facilities alike are taken care of. As a facilities attendant, you will be responsible for assisting with shuttling guests, cleaning public spaces and assisting with waste and recycling removal around the resort.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport guests and employees safely to and from designated locations around the resort.
- Assist passengers when entering or exiting shuttle, as necessary.
- Respond to guest calls, as needed (gift basket deliveries, supply runs, etc.).
- Perform inspections of shuttle for mechanical, safety and equipment problems daily.
- Maintain all exterior waste and recycling bins on property.
- Process all on-site waste and recycling in a way to reduce ecological footprint and to maximize efficiency.
- Sort paper, plastic, glass, metal, electronic waste, universal waste.
- Keep records of materials being disposed of and recycled.
- Communicate issues of significance to Manager regarding areas requiring special attention noted during rounds.
- Inspect the interior and exterior of the dedicated recycling truck regularly to ensure it is properly maintained.
- Communicate mechanical or structural maintenance needs noted on rounds to proper department.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the recycling areas.
- Deliver resort packages to appropriate departments.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of all public areas, restrooms and locker rooms.
- Cleaning of all floor surfaces throughout the building; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
- Cleaning of public space furniture; ensuring its correct placement and reporting any missing pieces or damage.
- Window and wall cleaning as needed; high dusting on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Following a daily checklist to ensure area are cleaning on time within operation requirements.
- Restock and inventory disposable products on a daily basis.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

- Must display very good organization and time management skills.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
- Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and work with little or no supervision.
- Clear and concise verbal communication skills especially when communicating via radio.
- Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
- Must have or be able to obtain a State of Michigan Chauffer’s License.
- Comfortable interacting with guests and working in highly visible areas.
- Requires attention to detail and ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed with seasonal shifts.
- Requires individuals with a self-directed work style and able to work with minimal supervision to organize and plan out daily activities.
- Requires understanding and genuine interest in conservation and sustainability concepts.
- Previous experience working with large trash and cardboard compactors preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time while working in an enclosed vehicle; talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
- Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
- Must have unrestricted and insurable Michigan driving record. Chauffeur license is preferred, but may be obtained after employment.
