Job Summary
Banquets Cook II is responsible for BOH operations within Crystal Mountain Resort Culinary Operations, supporting banquet and event services ranging from buffet-style dining to upscale plated dinners. This position works closely with leads, chefs and the culinary team to execute high-quality food for weddings, corporate events, and special functions.
Follows recipes, chef direction, banquet event orders (BEOs), Standard Operating Procedures, and all safety regulations. Responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned station(s), banquet prep areas, and kitchen spaces. Ensures timely execution and presentation of food that meets quality and consistency standards for both large-scale service and refined plated meals. Works to deliver an exceptional guest experience and contributes to a positive public image of Crystal Mountain Resort.

Banquets Cook at Crystal Mountain Resort is an entry- to intermediate-level culinary position focused on high-volume and event-driven service.
- Execute banquet menus including buffet, family-style, and plated service with attention to detail and timing
- Assist with event prep, including bulk production, portioning, and plating for large groups
- Follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and chef direction to ensure accurate and consistent execution
- Maintain quality and presentation standards across varying service styles, including upscale dining
- Demonstrate knife skills and proper food handling techniques
- Support kitchen team during service, including setup, execution, and breakdown of events
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, storage areas, and banquet prep spaces
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation standards, FIFO practices, and proper food storage procedures
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house and event staff to ensure smooth service execution
- Show willingness to learn and develop culinary techniques under chef leadership
- 1-3 years experience in kitchen operations, banquet or high-volume experience preferred
- Ability to obtain WA Food Safety Card within 3 days of hiring
- Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule
- Flexibility to work in different venues and locations across the resort
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow as a culinary professional
- Ability to work efficiently in both high-volume and detail-oriented environments
- This position is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer operating season.
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, and pulling on an occasional basis.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
