What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Support Specialist position at Crystal Equation Corporation?
The Global Infra group develops engineering tools specialized to drive efficiency and productivity across Client’s data warehouses. Our primary responsibility is to provide technical assistance as a service for data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers. We use a lot of internal customer tools and frameworks to accomplish these engineering tasks.
The Infra Engineering Support (IES) specialist will become a domain expert in Client’s data tools and provide front line support services (e.g., moderating groups, answering support questions, and improving documentation). Additionally, the IES specialist will perform advanced debugging and troubleshooting to independently resolve and escalate more complex issues to on-call engineers, investigate alerts and failed tests, identify and surface trends to the product teams, and provide insights regarding the voice of the user. Additional responsibilities and opportunities for advancement will be provided based on the candidate's skillset and drive to succeed.
The IES specialist will take part in the team discussions, road mapping, and backlog management. A successful candidate will leverage an understanding of users’ top issues to deliver insights and help with backlog prioritization.
- Responsibilities:Work closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Data Infrastructure Engineers.
- Work closely with Client’s internal engineering teams supporting key enterprise applications and development platforms.
- Serve as the first point of contact for resolving engineering inquiries and requests.
- Act as a subject matter expert on various products and tools to aid and improve Client's engineering productivity.
- Leverage the knowledge and experience for continuous improvement of Client’s products and platforms.
- Communicate (verbally / writing posts), build strong relationships with our partner teams, and deliver quality service.
- Requirements:BSc/Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field
- Experience with data analytics or log validation tools (e.g., Splunk, Tableau, Grafana, or similar)
- Familiarity with mobile debugging tools (e.g., Flipper, Android Studio, Xcode debugger)
- Solid programming skills in at least one of: Python, C , PHP, JavaScript, Java, or Swift
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies as part of onboarding.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building with a diverse, global, and cross-functional team
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a clear focus under pressure
- Ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve/troubleshoot issues and distill into clear and concise communications
- Fluency in English
- Preferred QualificationsProven experience Business Intelligence visualization tools e.g Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI
- Proven experience working in operations/support roles or other technical roles
- Interest in continuous technical training and career growth
