Crystal Creamery is currently looking for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor for our Modesto Plant.
The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities within the plant. This role ensures that all equipment and machinery operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and optimizing productivity. The supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians, manages maintenance schedules, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
o Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
o Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations.
1. Maintenance Management:
o Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and extend the life of machinery.
o Oversee and troubleshoot equipment repairs, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
o Manage emergency repairs and breakdowns, coordinating with external vendors if necessary.
1. Planning and Scheduling:
o Create and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule, ensuring routine checks and repairs are completed as planned.
o Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on plant operations.
1. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including maintaining a safe working environment for the maintenance team.
o Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and safety compliance.
1. Inventory and Budget Management:
o Manage maintenance inventory, including spare parts and tools, to ensure adequate stock levels and cost-effective purchasing.
o Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
1. Continuous Improvement:
o Analyze maintenance data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
o Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and plant performance.
1. Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to address maintenance-related issues and support overall plant objectives.
o Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external vendors to ensure alignment and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Dairy Experience preferred.
· Skills:
o Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, machinery, and equipment.
o Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
o Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
· Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., high noise levels, varying temperatures).
Working Conditions:
· Typically works in a plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and fluctuating temperatures.
· May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on maintenance needs and plant schedules.
