What will you be doing?
We’re seeking an experienced Controller / FP&A Analyst to manage finances for CrunchLabs and also for Mark Rober’s YouTube channel.
Job Responsibilities:
Controller
- Revenue accounting - reconcile cash receipts, account for diff revenue streams
- Inventory management - receipts, usage, BOMs, shipments, recons, landed cost (include shipping, customs fees, etc), reconcile inventory balances, cycle counts
- Inventory reporting - variance analysis (PPV, etc)
- AP bill coding - type of expense, project, marketing campaign, etc
- Pay bills - proper aging, approval, timely payment
- Procurement - POs, receipts, bills (3 way match)
- Cash management, investment strategy
- Bank reconciliations
- Cap table management
- Equity accounting - stock-based compensation expense
- Manage outside valuation service, to determine FMV of common stock
- Debt management/accounting (if applicable)
- Fixed asset tracking
- Other GL activities - accruals, prepaids, etc
- Monthly close process
- Expense management (Expensify, Concur, etc) - personal expense reports and corporate card recons
- Ensure proper insurance program in place - general liability, property, product, worker's comp, D&O, etc.
- Manage audit (with external firm)
- Contact review
- Consultants - contracts, ensure no EDD issues (CA)
- HR - offer letters (comp data), background check, on/off-boarding process, employee matters
- Payroll - state registrations, manage provider
- Performance reviews (annual or semi-annual)
- Corporate taxes - annual returns (manage tax firm)
- Sales taxes - track state/international nexus, registrations and periodic filings (manage Avalara)
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Budgeting, analytics, forecasting, reporting
- Annual operating plan and long range plan (5 year)
- Forecasting - monthly refresh after close, headcount, sales projections, COGS (variable, fixed, overhead)
- Cash flow forecasting
- Ad hoc analysis - price sensitivity, new product/channel, build vs buy
- Monthly reporting - Budget vs Actual (BVA), unit economics (gross margin, contribution margin, etc)
- Marketing analytics - CPA/CAC, LTV, retention/churn/customer lifespan, ROI of ad spend and/or production costs, ARR for SAAS model
- Daily/weekly/monthly sales dashboard and KPIs
- Consumer insights
Salary : $107,000 - $135,000
