We are working with a client who is seeking a Controller on an interim basis to start ASAP!
This role will be a key member of the senior leadership team! You will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems, reporting, and compliance—while helping guide the financial future of our organization.
This role is interim until they hire for the role. Ideally around 8-12 weeks in length.

- Position: Controller
- Location: Mountain View--5 days onsite
- Pay is up to $70/hr
- MUST have strong management experience along with at least 5 years of Controller level experience
- Ideal candidate has worked in the non-profit sector in the past
- Advanced experience in QuickBooks
What You’ll Do:
Accounting Management
- Lead financial reporting, planning, and record-keeping across all departments
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and banking relationships
- Oversee audits, revenue recognition, A/P, A/R, payroll, and ledger accounting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver accurate monthly and annual financial statements to stakeholders
- Oversee external financial reporting and audit preparation
- Analyze financial trends and provide strategic insights to leadership
Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership in strategic planning and budgeting
- Support and educate program managers on financial management
- Present financials at Board Finance Committee meetings
Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team (Sr. Accountant, A/P, Payroll, FP&A)
- Set departmental goals, conduct performance reviews, and foster professional growth
What You Bring:
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA preferred
- Nonprofit and/or healthcare financial management experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and nonprofit accounting standards
- Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and drive operational improvements
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
