What are the responsibilities and job description for the Settlement Officer position at Crown Title and Affiliates?
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maryland licensed title insurance producer to join our team. This is an in-office position, with some flexibility as to daily hours. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing title abstracts ( MD, PA, VA)
- Researching and resolving title issues (such as judgments, encumbrances, chain of title)
- Contacting appropriate parties for water/HOA/ground rent/taxes/etc.
- Preparing title commitments
- Preparing deeds, releases, letters of undertaking, letter of indemnity requests, etc.
- Preparing HUD/CD/ALTA settlement statements
- Communicating with realtors, lenders, and all parties relevant to the transaction
Candidates must possess the following skills:
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Research and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Ability to handle high volume of e-mails
Priority consideration will be given to applicants with the following experience:
- Title review & doc prep in multiple states
- Post-closing, including deposits, e-recording, and final title policy prep/remittance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
