The Assistant Property Manager supports the Residential Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of assigned properties. This role is key in ensuring smooth management processes, delivering excellent customer service, and protecting the financial and physical assets of the communities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in both resident relations and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with leasing activities, including showing units, processing applications, and preparing lease agreements.
- Support rent collection efforts and maintain accurate tenant ledgers.
- Help coordinate move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and property turns.
- Respond to owner inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and property files.
- Assist with vendor coordination, work orders, and maintenance scheduling.
- Monitor compliance with lease agreements and community policies.
- Excellence in property budgeting, reporting, and financial oversight.
- Contribute to marketing and resident retention initiatives.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of property management, leasing, or related administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and Washington State landlord/tenant law (preferred if WA-based).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with property management software (e.g., AppFolio) and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Customer service mindset with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in teams is essential.
