Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and optimization of our facility’s buildings, manufacturing equipment, and support systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, and experience keeping industrial equipment running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, forklifts, blowers, motors, pumps, and conveyors.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machines to minimize downtime.
- Conduct light electrical work including troubleshooting, replacing components, and basic wiring (up to 480V systems).
- Maintain and repair facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, plumbing, doors, docks, lighting, and structural components.
- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies (lockout/tagout, PPE, etc.).
- Collaborate with production teams to identify recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
- Assist with installation and setup of new equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to repair and maintain production machinery.
- Experience with forklifts, motors, blowers, pumps, and conveyor systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge (troubleshooting, motors, controls, and 480V systems).
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to urgent repairs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or heavy industrial settings.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of PLCs and basic automation systems.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
