Quality Control Inspector

Summary

Quality Control Inspectors at Crown Extrusions Inc. ensure that products meet internal and customer specifications for measurement tolerance and finish requirements. Perform assessments of documentation and material and provide organizational support to the process chain.

Essential Functions

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, finish standards, and included notes specific to the customer or material outputs.
• Use and correctly read measurement tools such as calipers, height gages, micrometers, etc.
• Keep measurement tools and equipment functioning correctly by following calibration requirements and removing them from use when malfunctioning or out of calibration date.
• Record inspection results, non-conforming defects, deviation details, and dispositions.
• Implement clear quality ideas and processes to the organization.
• Monitor the use of equipment by other departments.
• Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
• Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
• Determining root causes for defects or non-conformances and record according to the process.
• Assist with preparing areas for internal or external audits.
• Ensure packing teams are packing materials that conform to the given requirements and provide clear instructions for the teams to follow if defects are found.
• Various other duties as requested by your manager.

• Ensure product orders are packed and moved carefully.
• Fluent in English: Reading, writing, communicating

Education and Experience

• Required:

  A High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred:

  Prior experience in manufacturing or a relevant field.

  Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

• Limited on the job training available.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must be physically able to lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes are required in facilities.
• Work environment is subject to extreme environmental temperatures.
