Part-time, 20-24 hours/week

This is a part-time, staff position to provide administrative support to the School of Theology and Ministry with a focus on administrative support for the Doctor of Ministry program. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

This position reports to the Dean of the School of Theology and Ministry.

 

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

Possibly Student Workers

 

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:

Works from an office at Crown College. Regular attendance on campus to complete job duties is required. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, personal computer and related software, printer, calculator, and copy machines.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

·        Assist the Dean of the School of Theology and Ministry in daily office tasks, including:

o   Scheduling meetings and planning travel,

o   Securing and maintaining files and records, such as faculty credentials, faculty portfolios, employee evaluations, course syllabi, financial receipts, committee minutes, and related documents,

o   Preparing, sending, and receiving adjunct faculty agreements each semester,

o   Planning and sharing itineraries for prospective faculty and staff interviews,

o   Distributing, collecting, and digitally filing academic course evaluations,

o   Verifying and requesting payment for instructors teaching Guided Studies, Internships, and Practica,

o   Assisting in the coordination of significant events, such as DMin residency weeks, Pastor’s Summits, Convocation, Commencement, new faculty orientation, and

o   Reserving spaces needed for meetings and special events,

o   Completing other tasks as assigned.

·        Assign and supervise students workers to assist with basic office tasks related to Academic Affairs.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

·        Self-motivated and colleagial demeanor

·        Competency with computers and applicable software

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Strong organizational skills

·        Ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously while maintaining a friendly, optimistic environment

·        Resolve to maintain strict confidentiality

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stamina to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment
  • Hand and arm (or equivalent) dexterity adequate to allow for safe use of equipment and extensive use of a keyboard for data entry
  • Hearing and speaking capabilities for clear and inviting communications
  • Vision adequate for frequent and extended viewing of computer screens and safe use and supervision of equipment and materials
  • Body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·        3-5 years of related work experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

·        Bachelor’s degree

·        Work experience in a school setting; particularly in Christian higher eduction
