What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Orders Custom Solution- 1st Shift position at Crown Battery Manufacturing Co?
JOB SUMMARY:
Prepares shipments for customers wanting particular orders. Fulfills job responsibilities according to applicable work instructions.
DUTIES:
- Receives orders from Sales Department; recognizes the need for special labeling, packing and top priority. Coordinate labeling and packing with Label Department.
- Determines if inventory is sufficient to ship order; advises Supervisor if stock is not fresh, if stock is short, or if the order will be overweight.
- Labels all skids according to the quantity and type of battery; weighs all skids; stretch wraps all skids to complete order.
- Responsible for final quality check before shipping to customer (dirty batteries, leaking batteries and/or old stock must not be shipped).
- Receives individual shipping instructions from the shipping department; places order in rack or directly load commercial or company carrier as necessary.
- Assists SLI Repairman with general repair duties.
- Is responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
- Controlling nonconforming products
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
- Perform weekly and monthly inventories.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to the Fremont Warehouse & Distribution Manager or Distribution Operations Supervisor.
COMPETENCIES:
- Understanding of battery styles, sizes and quality requirements.
- Basic Computer Skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or 1 year manufacturing experience
- Forklift license
- Safety training
- HAZMAT
DESIRABLE TRAITS: Understand the importance of teamwork, accuracy and timeliness. Must be able to work independently with little guidance.
