- Plan and support execution of shipyard periods, including drydock, repairs, and inspections.
- Coordinate with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory bodies to maintain class and certification requirements.
- Develop and review technical work packages, repair specifications, and scopes of work.
- Provide technical oversight of vessel maintenance, repair, and readiness activities across assigned vessels.
- Plan and support execution of shipyard periods, including drydock, repairs, and inspections.
- Coordinate with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory bodies to maintain class and certification requirements.
- Develop and review technical work packages, repair specifications, and scopes of work.
- Support development and execution of Approved Baseline Business Plans (ABBP) in alignment with MARAD funding.
- Understand and manage financial aspects of vessel maintenance, including cost estimates, budgets, and funding alignment.
- Ensure work is properly scoped, justified, and executed within approved MARAD funding.
- Monitor vessel condition and identify gaps, risks, and required corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Port Engineers, Program Managers, and Operations to align technical execution with contract requirements.
- Support vendor selection, technical evaluations, and oversight of contractor performance.
- Ensure all technical work is properly documented and aligned with contract deliverables.
- Track progress of technical work and provide clear status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 5 years of maritime engineering, shipyard, or vessel operations experience.
- Experience with shipyard execution, drydock planning, and vessel maintenance programs.
- Working knowledge of ABS, USCG, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of ship systems and marine engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and contract funding structures.
