Crouse’s Interventional Radiology Neurology team is hiring a Full-Time Interventional Radiology Technologist.

Pay Range: $35.00 - $59.83

Three schedules available (with rotating weekends and on-call): 

• 6:00am - 2:30pm
• 6:30am - 3:00pm
• 7:00am - 3:30pm

Interventional Radiology Technologist Position Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of specialized and general procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. These procedures include, but are not limited to, specialized medical imaging modalities such as angiography.
• Obtains and extensively analyzes patient's medical record to ensure proper technical factors such as kilovoltage and exposure time are used.
• Assists in pre and post procedural care such as shaving, EKG, paperwork and vital signs.
• Applies prescribed ionizing radiation as needed for radiologic diagnosis in a professional, courteous manner. This includes arterial and venous angiography.
• Accurately documents results and demonstrates proficiency in the monitoring of cases.
• Ensures that imaging media and records are promptly completed with accurate and appropriate information including the image number and technical factors used.
• Performs medical imaging equipment quality control checks and accurately documents results according to existing department policy. Notifies department leadership of any faulty equipment.
• Coordinates radiation safety program for the assigned area of responsibility.
• Assists RN's and Physicians in the performance of examinations by preparing hypodermic supplies and other designated equipment in a timely fashion.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Interventional Radiology Technologist Position Requirements:

• Functional knowledge of principles and procedures used in diagnostic radiology for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of routine radiologic equipment.
• Must have BLS certification at the time of hire or within six (6) weeks after hire.
• Currently licensed by the State of New York to practice Diagnostic Medical Radiography. If hired as a Graduate Technologist, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within ninety (90) days of graduation and the Technologist must successfully pass the licensing exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment to obtain the required professional Technologist licensure with New York State.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration.
• Must obtain IV Contrast Certification within sixty (60) days of hire.
• Demonstrates proficiency with computer software and hardware such as CVIS, PACS and medical imaging equipment.
