Conserving the public expenditure of resources, and preserving the railroads’ assets, current use, current operating speeds and capacity, and future use of the right-of-way in a safe manner are our primary objectives.
In some cases, Crouch Engineering is the project designer and project manager, performing the surveying, design, permitting, bid phase, and construction engineering services. In other cases, Crouch Engineering is the manager of the public project tasks, including plan review, coordination with railroad and public officials, and construction observation.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Railroad Track Inspector based in Brentwood, TN. The Railroad Track Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating rail track conditions to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards. Duties include identifying potential hazards, documenting inspection findings, preparing reports, and coordinating with maintenance teams for necessary repairs. The role also requires ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and maintaining track inspection records.
Qualifications
- Experience in Railroad Track Inspection, Maintenance, or Construction
- Knowledge of Safety Standards, Regulatory Compliance, and Hazard Identification
- Ability to Prepare Reports, Document Findings, and Maintain Inspection Records
- Strong Communication, Attention to Detail, and Problem-Solving Skills
- Physical ability to work outdoors and conduct track inspections in various weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus
