Crosstown Plumbing is a very busy supply store that has been supporting neighborhood contractors and homeowners for generations. Located in East Orange, NJ, we are looking for dependable Customer Payments & Support Specialist who thrives in a very busy environment and wants to play an important role on a great team. This role serves as the first impression of the company, but is also responsible for processing customer payments and completing daily office tasks, such as stocking the office and answering the phone. You will be responsible for providing customers with the best possible experience, while also managing the cash register. Additionally, you must be able to answer customer inquiries, provide basic company information, and balance daily cash register receipts. The ideal candidate must have strong math skills and be comfortable using a calculator.
Please note this role requires occasional weekend hours and mandatory overtime (paid time and a half!) as our store needs constant coverage. Hours during the week are typically 7:30-5:30/6pm and weekends are 9-3pm. If this sounds of interest to you, please submit your application today!

Job Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, answer phone calls, and provide helpful, professional service.
- Process customer payments, including high-value cash, checks, credit cards, and account payments, with accuracy and care.
- Monitor the cash drawer throughout the day and ensure all transactions are correct.
- Help with office tasks such as filing, scanning, stocking supplies, and keeping the workspace tidy.
- Assist with pick-up orders and make sure payment details and paperwork are completed correctly.
- Work with the team to solve issues and keep operations running smoothly while proving the best customer service.
- 2 years of experience in office support, check cashing, or banking for businesses highly preferred.
- Proven ability to handle large cash amounts responsibly and do mental math without relying on a register.
- A positive attitude, clear communication, and willingness to help.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work weekend or overtime hours when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college is a plus.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Other ad-hoc requests as needed
