Now Hiring: Shop Assistant (Waterjet / Machine Shop Environment)
We’re looking for a dependable, hard-working individual to join our machine shop team! This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a workspace clean, organized, and running efficiently.
Position Overview:
As a Shop Assistant, you’ll play a key role in assisting with running parts on the waterjet and getting them ready to deliver to the customer. Your responsibilities will focus on taking a completed part off the machine and making sure it is burr free, drilling and tapping if needed and ready to ship , and general shop upkeep to support safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Staging material for upcoming jobs
- Perform 2nd operations required in a machine shop environment
- Sweep to maintain shop floors
- Remove debris and materials from work zones
- Assist with basic shop needs
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Willingness to get hands-on and work in wet or messy conditions
- Reliable and punctual
- Prior shop or industrial experience is a plus, but not required
- Knowing fractions to decimals conversion is helpful, but not required
