We seek a dynamic individual to fill our clinic's PRN Dispensing Nurse position (day shift only).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Responsible for measuring and dispensing the methadone and other medications according to the doctor’s orders, as well as FDA, DEA, and ADAD regulations. Additionally, it provides nursing and medical record-keeping services to Methadone and other programs. 

Responsible for ordering, receiving, dispensing, and maintaining accurate medication records according to applicable rules and regulations.

Coordinating with program supervisors and counselors supports patient treatment, ensures that physicians’ orders are adequately dispensed, and administers all medication correctly. 

Responsible for dosing and documenting all methadone doses within scheduled clinic hours. 

Reports inconsistencies and problems related to handling-controlled substances to the program supervisor. 

Maintains a clean and safe work area and immediately reports any potential hazards to the supervisor. 

Observe the patient for urinalysis. 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: 

LPN or RN license with some classes in a human service area, such as psychology. 

Experience: 

Prefer prior experience in the substance use field.

Other: 

Knowledge of applicable laws regarding medication dispensing, storage, and accountability.

Basic computer skills are also required.
