Position Title: PC Technician
Location: U.S. Attorney’s Office in Raleigh, NC
Position Overview
The PC Technician provides comprehensive IT support services to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO), Eastern District of North Carolina. This role supports day-to-day operations of IT systems, ensuring reliable performance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure while delivering high-quality customer support to end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems
- Support network operations including routers, switches, and servers
- Perform system maintenance, updates, and patch management
- Diagnose and resolve recurring technical issues for end users
- Assist with system administration and network monitoring activities
- Provide user training and guidance on standard applications and systems
- Support telecommunications systems, including teleconferencing tools
- Maintain and manage file systems, directories, and access permissions
- Assist in cybersecurity efforts, including monitoring compliance with security protocols
- Support basic web/intranet updates using HTML/XML as needed
- Track and manage IT equipment and property records
- Coordinate installation, relocation, and inventory of IT assets
- Generate reports and assist with data analysis and documentation
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant IT support experience
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals
- Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems and common applications
- Ability to provide professional, customer-focused support
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a government or legal environment
- Familiarity with network administration and cybersecurity practices
- Basic scripting or web content management experience
- Experience with property or asset management systems
