Elementary School Substitute Teacher

We are currently accepting applications for K-5 substitute teachers in general education and in specialty subjects (art, music, dance, drama, science, physical education, Spanish, and technology).

Essential Job Functions

• Applicants should be responsible, well organized, flexible and able to substitute on campus as NEEDED on the day of or night before the assignment
• Applicants should have a mobile device and be confident in the use of the device for email and text communications
• Comfortable in all aspects of classroom management
• Be able to follow and implement lesson plans
• Write a brief report to the teacher at the end of the day’s assignment

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children in a school, childcare, daycare, or similar educational setting

Physical Demands

• Standing all day, moving about the classroom, outdoor supervision to monitor students, and sitting during certain periods
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Ability to climb stairs while supervising students

Required Training:

All newly hired employees are required to complete the following mandatory trainings within their first 30 days of employment:

• Harassment Prevention Training
• Workplace Violence Prevention Training
• Mandated Reporter Training

Failure to complete these required trainings within the designated timeframe may result in corrective action, up to and including suspension of work duties until compliance is achieved.
