What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Manager position at CROSSROADS SCHOOL FOR ARTS & SCIENCES?
- Serve as a co-editor and write for Cross Sections magazine, published annually.
- Serve as point-person for three weekly parent newsletters, soliciting, organizing and editing content. Occasionally update newsletters in Blackbaud via simple coding. (We’ll teach you.)
- In collaboration with Development staff, create content for Annual Giving and capital campaign fundraising programs, including e-blasts, appeal letters, brochures and acknowledgement letters.
- Create and edit content for the Office of Admission and Affordability, including videos (mostly outsourced), e-blasts and postcards.
- Edit and proofread collateral and other materials from K-12 colleagues.
- Oversee the online school store, working with the vendor/designer to offer new spirit wear several times a year and occasionally troubleshooting issues that may arise.
- Establish an editorial calendar for website news stories and social media posts and serve as the main content creator for both.
- Edit/create content for the School website as needed.
- Take photos and simple videos for the website/social media.
- Very occasionally attend events beyond work hours.
- Exceptionally strong writing and proofreading skills are an absolute must.
- Knowledge of Associated Press style.
- Experience with CMS systems, Google Workspace, AI tools and social media platforms.
- Ability to shape and articulate a compelling case for financial support.
- Ability to generate imaginative, error-free and persuasive copy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Engagement with faculty, staff and students to find interesting stories to tell.
- Friendliness and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Special skills in photography, video filming/editing, and graphic design a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Salary : $82,000 - $87,000
