Summer Programs Teacher

The Summer Teacher is responsible for leading engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for students in grades K–5 within our summer program. This role includes planning and facilitating lessons, supervising children in a classroom setting, and supporting daily program operations such as set-up and clean-up. We are seeking enthusiastic, creative individuals who enjoy working with children and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. This is a seasonal, part-time position. 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons, activities, and projects  
• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all students  
• Supervise and actively engage with children during structured and unstructured time  
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, faculty, and staff  
• Manage group dynamics and maintain appropriate behavior expectations  
• Collaborate with team members to support overall program success  
• Assist with daily set-up, transitions, and clean-up  
• Model positive behavior and strong interpersonal skills  
• Use sound judgment in supervising and supporting students  

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive demeanor

Education/Experience: 

• Prior experience working with children in grades K–5 in a school, camp, or similar setting  
• Familiarity with progressive or student-centered educational approaches is a plus  

 Physical Demands: 

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time  
• Ability to walk throughout campus and navigate stairs  
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds  
• Ability to actively supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments
