Childcare Assistant

Position Overview:  

The Childcare Assistant job involves supervising and interacting with children, grades K-5, in indoor and outdoor play environments and assisting with set-up and clean-up each day. We are looking for fun, energetic individuals that enjoy working with children.  This is a seasonal part-time position.

Essential Job Functions: 

Ability to interact well with children, parents, faculty, and staff

Enthusiasm and involvement in student activities

Capability of listening carefully to others

Ability to support large groups of children 

Able to demonstrate good judgment

Reliability

Good communication and verbal skills

Friendly and energetic demeanor 

Attention to detail and follow through

Prior after school or summer program experience in a K-5 school

Personal Skills needed for this position include: 

Patience, kindness, insight, honesty, responsibility, reliability, and flexibility  

Ability to facilitate conflict resolution 

Ability to listen to and respond to others carefully 

Hardworking, attention to detail and follow through and problem-solving skills  

Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills  

Maintains a positive work attitude   

Works well with others and models professionally appropriate behavior 

Ability to adapt and change directions as needed in a demanding educational setting   

Education/Experience needed for this position include: 

Attended our “Student Leadership Crew” program

Physical Demands: 

Ability to stand for longer periods of time 

Ability to walk around campus and climb stairs 

Ability to move and lift up 40 pounds
