ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a versatile, highly driven Product & Dealer Development Engineer to lead both the technical development of new engines/applications and the growth, training, and support of our authorized dealership network.

This hybrid role bridges engineering, field support, and commercial channel development, ensuring that new products are designed, validated, and launched successfully—and that dealers have the knowledge, tools, and processes needed to represent and support those products at the highest level.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Engine Design, Development & Testing

- Lead the design and development of new engines and applications, from concept through production release.

- Create CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications; manage design changes.

- Plan and execute test protocols, including performance testing, durability testing, emissions testing, and validation of integrated applications.

- Conduct FEA analysis, performance simulations, and root-cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools (FMEA, 5-Why, 8D, DMAIC).

- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure DFM/DFA, APQP/PPAP compliance, and smooth production launch.

- Prepare required technical documentation to support emissions certification, safety compliance, and regulatory approvals.


2. Dealer Training, Support & Development

- Serve as the primary technical and commercial liaison for assigned dealers.

- Provide comprehensive training on new engines, applications, service procedures, diagnostics, and tools.

- Conduct dealer capability assessments and implement improvement plans covering sales, service, parts, and compliance.

- Ensure dealer adherence to standards related to branding, warranty processes, safety, and reporting.

- Support dealers with complex technical cases, customer escalations, and on-site engine/application issues.

- Develop annual dealer growth plans, assist with pipeline development, and identify opportunities to expand market coverage.


3. Compliance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure both engineering and dealer operations meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

- Develop and maintain product documentation, technical bulletins, service procedures, and training materials.

- Gather dealer and customer feedback to inform engineering improvements, reliability growth efforts, and product roadmap planning.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both product performance and dealer capability.


COMPETENCIES:

- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/Creo/Fusion).

- Knowledge of ICE systems, powertrain fundamentals, combustion, cooling, lubrication, and emissions controls.

- Data acquisition and instrumentation experience.

- Proficiency with engineering tools such as FEA, CFD, DOE, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis.

- Familiarity with CRM tools and dealer management workflows is a plus.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Strong communication and training/facilitation ability.

- Problem-solver who enjoys both hands-on technical work and field/customer interaction.

- Comfortable balancing engineering rigor with business and customer needs.

- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate cross functionally.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent related working experience.

- Advanced degree or certifications (Six Sigma, ASE, OEM training) a plus.


PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):

- On-time completion of engineering design deliverables and test plans.

- Product reliability, performance, and certification targets met.

- Dealer compliance scores and timely remediation of gaps.

- Growth in dealer sales, service readiness, and training completion rates.

- Reduction in warranty issues through improved design and dealer capability.

- Quality and completeness of technical support and documentation.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

- Approximately 25–40% travel to dealers, test sites, and manufacturing facilities.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Some light to medium lifting could be required.


NOTE FOR POSITION: This is a full-time offer, with complete benefits. Compensation will be Salaried, determined by new hires experience.
