What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site locations: Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla (San Diego), CA; Piedmont, CA; South Bay (LA), CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY (relocation assistance available)
- $200,000 annually, paid weekly | Health, dental, and vision benefits from day one
Students at Alpha don't passively attend lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your role ensures three commitments are delivered to every child in your cohort: they develop a genuine love for learning, they progress at 2x velocity, and they acquire capabilities beyond what traditional textbooks provide. You will also mentor the Guides who uphold these same commitments throughout your campus.
Data informs every choice, and every interaction happens in person. Your time divides between directly managing your student cohort and coaching the Guides under your leadership — with identical expectations for both: documented growth, without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you don't draft documentation; you observe firsthand, debrief immediately, and resolve it before the day ends.
You'll witness reserved children confidently presenting to adults. You'll observe a student who once "despised school" requesting extra time. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their transformation, because upholding expectations demonstrates your belief in their potential.
You may be establishing a completely new campus from the ground up and setting the foundational culture that will characterize the school. As the campus grows, your role evolves from operational founder to coaching-focused leader, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's approach across your area.
If this opportunity appeals to you, submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour interactive life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering areas such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's established framework
- Conducting daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of students reach their weekly application targets through age-appropriate incentive structures including school currency and leaderboards
- Developing Guides via observation, precise feedback, and practical training so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and rigor to your own delivery
- Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint individuals requiring support, then providing direct intervention
- Personally mentoring your designated cohort of students, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides
- Creating lesson plans or designing instructional content. Students progress through adaptive applications; your responsibility is to make the people supporting them exceptional.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You're 80% motivator, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn't the right fit.
- Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or school leadership. If a student achieves 99%, the response is "not yet" — and you'll receive full support to maintain that standard.
- Spending time in an office handling administrative tasks. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
- Waiting extended periods for performance evaluations. Data is available in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.
Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides you develop: every student loves learning, advances at 2x speed, and acquires genuine life competencies.
