What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Director, gt.school - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- Location: On-site in Georgetown, TX (Austin area); relocation support available
- Compensation: $100,000/year
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Benefits: Health benefits begin day one
Your days are divided between two core functions. First: structured one-hour life skill sessions (topics include public speaking, focus, feedback exchange), delivered through hands-on activities and validated by a mastery assessment students must pass or repeat. Second: individualized motivation work where you analyze Coachbot data, align with students on their personal objectives, and apply age-appropriate motivators (campus currency, leaderboards) to sustain momentum when students are tempted to disengage. Both functions are quantified. Your effectiveness is measured by satisfaction ratings and app progression rates—not by volume of material presented.
The advancement path is clear. High performers transition into senior coaching positions, leading a team while maintaining their own student group. Those who succeed at scale advance to Campus Lead roles, assuming full responsibility for school operations, stakeholder relations, and site-level performance. This is a merit-based track. Your ceiling is determined solely by your results.
If your goal is to be the catalyst for a student who completes high school by 8th grade while mastering time management, processing critical feedback, and presenting with confidence, submit your application. If you require traditional lecture formats and fixed curricula to perform effectively, this role is not suitable.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skill sessions covering topics such as public speaking, focus, and feedback exchange, structured around hands-on, project-driven activities, with each session culminating in a mastery test (Test2Pass) that students must pass to progress
- Conducting daily motivation check-ins: analyzing Coachbot data, aligning on each student's individual objectives, and deploying age-appropriate motivators to overcome resistance and achieve weekly progression benchmarks
- Tailoring your coaching strategy with generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to customize sessions based on individual student characteristics and learning behaviors
- Preparing for each session by reviewing curriculum materials and lesson frameworks to ensure delivery is engaging, adherent to playbooks, and receives strong student ratings
- Monitoring satisfaction metrics and app progression data, then refining your methods when performance indicators reveal disengagement or stalled advancement
- Teaching academic content, providing tutoring, or clarifying curriculum materials — students progress through self-directed applications; your function is coaching and motivating, not instructing
- Experiencing pressure to advance a student who has not shown mastery: standards are maintained irrespective of proximity to passing
- Handling classroom discipline issues: you are working with gifted, self-driven students; behavioral management is not your central challenge
- Creating lesson plans from the ground up: curriculum and playbooks are established; your responsibility is high-quality execution, not curriculum design
- Grading assignments, processing administrative documentation, or attending planning sessions unconnected to student results
